A Peek at the Show

Just slamming out a very quick post this morning, to give you a peek at the show.  When we first started kicking around the idea, it reminded me of the Little Rascals, "hey kids! let's get together and put on a show!"  Yeah, I know, I'm REALLY dating myself there.  LOL.  But it was a very enjoyable day, perfect weather for it and I think it got everyone to thinking about Christmas.  Cause it really is just around the corner.

Anyway.  Here is my meager spot:

In hind site, I wished that I had put those ornaments (on the right) on a small tree, but oh well.  Live and learn. Here are my tables in front...they got a little hodge-podgie.  LOL.

Books, tiny paintings and a few assorted things.

Princess chalkboards, wands, books, monogrammed ornines and a a pitch for custom painting.  After I got it all laid out...I thought, what have I been doing for the past month?  Should be way more stuff than this.  *sigh* That's what happens when you are the Pokey Puppy Crafter.  LOL.

You can't really see the details on these!  Pity, cause they are wicked cute.  Cora does tiny details in glitter, like adding hats, teddy bears, and wings.  They are adorable and a different take on dressing up the cabinet photo.

 

And sock monkeys!  Cora carries sock monkeys and some of the cutest vintage baby stuff you've ever seen.  Carol was next to her, doing her handmade clothing.  Cute stuff and always a crowd gathered there.

 

The "tutu" girls had it going on.  They were one of the hottest rooms in the house.

 

As was Deb's jewelry.

 

And Sharon's.  Sharon's DIL Mandy and her hubby make the wonderful crosses (in the background).  They are beautiful and they sold several as well.

Yay!  Always fun to meet a fellow blogger!  Pam was a delight and I loved her whimsical little girl paintings (even though on a strict budget, I had to have a magnet!).  Visit her website to see more of her whimsical cuteness.

 

JuJu had some cuteness going on herself!  These pincushions were wonderful.

At the end of the day, there were NONE of these left.  They were too cute and I wish I had grabbed just one (budget?) before they were all gone!  

And it was all held here!  I did not even take ya into the kitchen and show you all the wonderful goodies that Carol Ann (of Two Sisters) had for sale.  Yummy cupcakes, breads, banana puddings...yeah, I spent too much time in that room.

Keepin It Real.

These pics are not for the faint hearted.  Those that are squeamish, avert your eyes now.  This is the "craft zone".

Oh.the.horror.  LOL.  Seriously, it feels like it is scattered from one end of the house to the other.

But just a few more projects to finish.  All of this work only produced enough goods to barely fill a laundry basket.  Gah.  I should fire myself. 

But, I'll take pics of the booth tomorrow and show you the show set up.  I hope we have a good turn out.  Weather is supposed to be in the high 70's (almost 80).  Yeah.  That will put em in the Christmas mood.  ha.  Fa. La. La. La. La.  

I have a Nice Rack!

Yeah.  I do.  I have been told.  So, I just have to boast about it for a wee bit.  I'm sure you won't begrudge me being just a little bit proud.  Let me show ya my rack. 

 

Ha!  Sorry, just had to do that!  This baby just came into my possession via my sweet friend, RB.  I appreciated the darn good price for this, cause I have long since admired them at The Container Store and I know what they retail for.  So when she offered, I snapped it up.  I mean, come on, every girl needs a nice rack.  Right? 

 

So I welcomed the newest addition to the Studio.  Right now, it is sitting just out of the way, filled with assorted projects on the old "to do" list.  But eventually it will go into my (hopefully) organized closet.  Holding all the papers that I have that have thus far killed two plastic rollie bins.

Orange ya glad its Blue

Fall is in my brain.  But my hands are working on Christmas.  It's a very weird place to be in.  I have Christmas spread from the kitchen table to the laundry room.  In various stages of 1.  paint drying, 2.  glitter drying, 3.  paint and glitter drying and so forth.  I have much to show you, but not yet.  You must wait.  LOL.  Mean huh?  Some would say yes. 

But back to Fall.  I re-vamped my little Fall notions kit.  Put it in a less expensive container, made it cheaper and then crammed some more stuff in it.  Go figure.  But its really cute.  And I know, you need this stuff to work on right now!  LOL.

But back to the other part about Fall.  And color combos.  I love color.  It just makes me happy.  And Fall to me, always speaks of orange.  But lately, well, I've been into blue.  I know, I know.  I think the mags and designers have been pushing it for so long, now its finally sunk into my head.  So, without further adieu...orange and blue.

 

Hideously ugly...and yet, it speaks to me.  LOL.  Scary I know.

Waltzing little french peeps.  I love the orange and blue in her dress.

 

Little Boy Blue?  No. Red.  But I think that when I finally decide to make something with this...it will be wonderful with blue.  Love the icky frame!  Perfectly grotty!

Let's Talk Turkey!

Ever since I was a small child, I've loved honeycomb.  So, when I discovered several pieces at the last Estate Sale that I went to, I was delighted. 

This fellow above, was so elegant.  Loved the rendering of his face and the gray tones in the honeycomb tail.  He's gorgeous.

 

This guy is the Traditional Turkey in brown and red.

 

Here he is on the front of the original packaging.  Fun for the kids table.  He's a big turkey!

And these are little ones! 

And a little pumpkin.  Or rather a big pumpkin as this one measures 13" x 9-1/2".  Ya can't have turkey without pumpkin.

Witches

Double, double toile and trouble ;

Fire burn and Cauldron bubble.

When I was in High School, I was in Speech Class (geek!) and one of the "performance pieces" that my best friend and I did, was the three witches from MacBeth.  Only since there were just two of us, we had to modify to fit better.  But to this day, those words still run through my head sometimes and I have a soft spot in my heart for witches.

 

So, as we begin the count down to Halloween, I'm getting ready to close up the Halloween box and move on into Fall.  To me, its always a little sad and I always wish that I had started earlier.  I did not get my vintage Halloween book made or my garland, but I guess there is always next year.  Hopefully I will start sooner.

I've had so much fun playing with a great bag of paper goodies that my friend Kathy over at Country Chintz sent me.  Lots of good stuff there Maynard!  So, from that pile of goodies, came these three tags.  Three witches, three tags. 

This was probably my fave.  I think.  And I had gotten some great things off of Lisa Cooks Etsy shop as well.  

And speaking of Etsy, I'm going to try and have a few more things loaded on tonight.  I have some great vintage nut cups (sweet! Robin's Egg Blue), another great stitched piece, some wonderful pleated fabric lace, you have to see it and a baby book.  So stop over and take a peep if ya get the chance.  Click the shop button on the left.

Guilty of Neglect

Yes, that's me.  Guilty.  I'm bad.  Really I'm a bad owner.  Someone should stop me.  Make me see the error of my ways.  I've been so neglectful and it shows.  Because when I hit my Google Analytics last night and saw that my Etsy shop viewing had dropped a whopping 56%, well.  I hung my head in shame.  I'm a bad Etsy shop owner! 

 

But!  I hope to make amends!  Truly I do.  And over the next few weeks I plan to add lots of weird and wonderful vintage and supplies goodies to my poor, mis-treated shop baby. 

Above is a new item I just listed tonight.  Is that not gorgeous?  I thought so.

The photo does not do it justice.  The colors are bright and beautiful.  And her handiwork was flawless. 

I think this was meant to be a boudoir pillow.  But the linen is so sheer.  And a beautiful shade of mint green.

#3...ewww.  Creepy.  Fake hands of any kind creep me out!  Totally.  Maybe because I saw this as a child.  Yep.  Scared for life.  LOL.

Ain't She Cute?

I made her from a sweet little kit that I got from "the other Cindy".  I just fell in love with her and had to have her. 

I made a few modifications here.  As no glitter on her wand (sorry, German Glass Glitter just scares me!, LOL).  I gave her orange and black stockings and a wee pumpkin.  But that was just a few minor changes. 

Here she is in her entire-ty!  She is a little Halloween Queen!   Stop over and see all the cute things that  Cindy makes!  She is a very talented gal!
